VNB Voc-Tech to partner with state on two campaigns

September 19, 2019 by Staff Writer

Press Release

Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School is proud to announce a new partnership with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on two statewide public awareness campaigns: Teach Mass and Deeper Learning.

Teach Mass (www.doe.mass.edu/Teach) is designed to recruit more young professionals into our public schools as teachers, with a focus on Western Massachusetts and diversifying the state’s teaching workforce.

Deeper Learning (www.doe.mass.edu/DeeperLearning) is entering its pilot stage, where schools and districts will have the opportunity to reimagine instruction and the learning environment to provide students with more engaging, hands-on lessons aligned to the state’s learning standards.

Throughout this campaign, DESE staff will act as both clients and account managers for the project, while our students will act as the advertising agency. Students will experience all stages of the marketing and creative process by taking on responsibilities such as parts of the creative design, writing, animation, and video production to be used in the two campaigns.

This will be an exciting and fulfilling experience for our students in both the Media Technology and Visual Design programs, as they will have the opportunity to work on marketing and public relations material that will be used across the state.

We look forward to working side by side on these public relations initiatives with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
