The Fairhaven High School Hall of Fame Committee announces the publication of Buddy Thomas’s first book, “True to the Blue.” In this unique publication Buddy Thomas has used his 40+ years of experience covering local high school sports for the Standard-Times to produce a decade-by-decade chronicle of Fairhaven High School sports.
Buddy relied on the archives of the ST to research the first half of the 20th century, including some historic photos of some of the legends of the high school’s sports teams. Buddy relies on his experiences of covering local high school sports since 1966 to examine the highlights of the Fairhaven Blue Devils teams in the latter part of the 20th century and the first decade of this century.
Buddy Thomas will be conducting a book signing on Saturday, September 30, at 10:30 am in the auditorium on the ground floor of the Millicent Library. Copies of “True to the Blue” will be on sale for $25, and the book can also be purchased at the Euro Store at the corner of Center and Main Streets, as well as at the FHS football game vs NB Voc-Tech on Friday, 9/22 at the Concession Stand. The book can also be purchased online at Store.BookBaby.com for the same price plus shipping.
Buddy serves as a consultant to the FHS Hall of Fame Committee and he has asked that all proceeds from the sale of his book go to that committee to assist them in carrying out their mission.
