Acushnet Boy Scout Troop 11 and the Acushnet Firefighters Association held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for three Troop members: Noah Dionne, Aaron Palhota, and Matthew Tripp. The ceremony was held at the Acushnet Council on Aging on Saturday, 4/6/24, and included a dinner reception with family and invited guests.
Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is no easy feat. Scouts must earn at least 21 merit badges, progress through the ranks, and earn all of the Eagle badges. Eagle Scouts must also complete a community service project. All of this has to be done before they are 18 years old.
The ceremony includes the Pledge of Allegiance, the Boy Scout Pledge, the Eagle Scout Pledge, and the pinning ceremony.
Eagle Scouts receive a medal, and their parents, or other chosen adult(s) receive an Eagle Scout pin.
State Rep. Paul Schmid and Acushnet Select Board member Bob Hinckley also attended the ceremony.
