One of Fairhaven’s newest businesses is introducing the town to poutine, a Canadian specialty made with French fries, cheese curds and lots of other goodies for variety.
Economic Development Chairperson, Cathy Melanson, officially welcomed Krave Poutinerie at a ribbon cutting on 9/24/26, saying that Fairhaven is happy to be getting new business, especially small businesses to come to town.
“We’re here to tell everybody that we have a new business here, and we want ou to come and support them,” said Ms. Melanson.
She said Fairhaven is a “wonderful little town.”
Owner, Shelley Ring, said they have been open for about a month and are “excited to get going.”
She said poutine is a Canadian dish that came from Quebec in the 1950s.
It is, she said, the “unofficial dish” of Canada.
It is French fries, white cheddar cheese curds and gravy.
“The gravy is so good,” said Ms. Ring. “We make it every morning.”
She described a couple of her special variations, including her favorite, Smokey Swine, which includes pork. They also have a garlic parmesan crispy chicken.
“We’re excited for you to come and try our poutine,” said Ms. Ring.
Ms. Melanson said there were so many options, she would have to go every day to try them all.

Other variations include a Big Chik’n Mac, complete with special sauce; a “Golden Feva” poutine, with gold fever sauce; and side options.
Krave Poutinerie is located at 2 Pequod Road on the corner of Alden Road, in the parking lot of Bask. They are open Thursday through Sunday. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday; and noon to 6:30 on Sunday.
