Fairhaven voters will vote for local offices on Monday, 4/2.
The Board of Public Works has three candidates for two seats. Incumbents Robert “Hoppy” Hobson and Keith Silvia, and newcomer Albert Martin.
The Board of Health has two people vying for one open seat: former Selectboard member Michael Silvia and Commissioner of Trust Funds member Barbara Acksen, who held a BOH seat for one term.
The rest of the ticket is uncontested with: G. Bourne Knowles IV, running for an open seat as Tree Warden; Selectboard member Bob Espindola running for his third term; incumbent moderator Mark Sylvia; two seats for School Committee, with both incumbents, Donna McKenna and Colin Veitch running for re-election; incumbent Colleen Sylvia for Commissioner of Trust Funds; for Housing Authority, incumbent Gregory Tutcik will run unopposed for his seat, and sitting HA member John Farrell will run to finish out the unexpired term he was appointed to.
For Planning Board, there is only one candidate for two seats. PB member John Farrell, is running for re-election, in addition to running for the unexpired term on Housing Authority.
Polls are open from 10 a,m. to 8 p.m. and are located at the following places
Precinct 1: Town Hall
Precincts 2 and 3: Hastings Middle School
Precinct 4: Fire Station Meeting Room
Precincts 5 & 6: Recreation Center

Acushnet to vote on recreational pot
Acushnet will also vote on Monday, with no contested races on the ballot, but a ballot question on recreational marijuana. All voting will take place at the Acushnet Elementary School, 800 Middle Road, Acushnet. (Click here for details)
