About 100 people joined the annual Teddy Bear parade through Fairhaven center on Wednesday, 8/1/18, signalling the end of the summer reading program at the Millicent Library. This year’s theme was “Libraries Rock.” Scores of young’uns, towing their adults behind them, marched from the library to Our Lady’s Haven, where residents handed out candy, waved to the marchers, and otherwise enjoyed the spectacle. In addition to the march, participants could have their faces painted by Daisy D. Dots, and receive some freebies, such as animal cracker snacks and drinks.

Jane Murphy and her Teen Tuesday group of volunteers pause for a group shot at the end of the festivities. She says without the help of the volunteers this wouldn’t be possible. See you next year! Photo by Glenn C. Silva
