Homecoming Day Fair
Saturday, June 25, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Center Street, from William to Green streets, Fairhaven, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Featuring about 175 booths of handmade crafts and delicious foods in addition to live entertainment, an art exhibit on the west lawn of the Unitarian Church, and children’s activities, including the very popular fire engine rides.

Celebrate LGBTQ+ social and self-acceptance, achievements, experiences, and pride in the very heart of Fairhaven. Whether you are part of the LGBTQIA community, an ally, or wondered what all the rainbows are about, come and be welcomed.
Preliminary plans include guest speakers, opportunities for members of the public to share their stories, informational booths, and more.

Fairhaven High School Tours
Fairhaven High School, 12 Huttleston Avenue, Route 6, Saturday, June 25, 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon; Wednesday, June 29, 10:00 a.m.; Friday, July 8, 10:00 a.m.; Friday, July 15, 10:00 a.m.; Friday, July 22, 10:00 a.m.
Tour the “Castle on the Hill,” which was donated to the town in 1906 by Fairhaven’s famous philanthropist Henry Huttleston Rogers. All tours will be conducted by FHS Alumni Association President Bob Foster and will meet in the Rotunda at the front of the building on the Huttleston Avenue (Route 6) side of the building.
The tour goers will explore the beautiful rooms, auditorium and gymnasium of the 1906 building designed by Boston architect Charles Brigham. In 2017 Architecture Digest named Fairhaven High School the most beautiful high school in Massachusetts, and many would say the most beautiful in the United States. Admission is free. The building is handicap accessible, but not all parts of the tour may be. Sponsored by the Fairhaven High School Alumni Association.

July 4 Parade and Car Cruise
Help celebrate the Nation’s Birthday in true Fairhaven style!
Fourth of July Car Cruise and Parade, Monday, July 4. Flag raising and Car Cruise start 8:30 a.m. at Fairhaven High School. Parade starts approximately 9:00 a.m. at Green St. side of Cushman Park
We will begin with the raising of the Big Flag at F.H.S at 8:30 a.m. Watch the antique cars cruise through town and arriving at Cushman Park to meet up with the start of the Parade.
The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. from Cushman Park (Green Street side) and continue down Green Street to Fort Phoenix, where the Town of Fairhaven will hold the annual Independence Day Ceremony and the traditional cannon firing by the Fairhaven Village Militia at 10 a.m.
Marchers and Floats are needed for the July 4th parade, for groups of all sizes to show your American spirit!
Grab your neighbors and march as a group or have your business or organization enter!

Fort Phoenix July 4th Ceremony & Cannon Salute
Fort Phoenix Independence Day Ceremony and Cannon Salute, Monday, July 4, following the July 4th parade, Fort Phoenix, Fort Street, Fairhaven
This patriotic program is held at historical Fort Phoenix to celebrate the founding of our nation. A short presentation will be given by speakers, including a history of Fort Phoenix. There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Stasia Powers, chair of the Fairhaven Select Board. The flag will be raised by Cassie and Lacey Freitas as the National Anthem is sung by Fairhaven High School graduate and current Miss Freetown, Tori Kalisz.
Following the flag raising, the fort’s 24-pound Seacoast Defense cannons will be fired over the harbor by the Fairhaven Village Militia, Inc.
