Students at Saint Joseph School in Fairhaven are trying to spread a little cheer. After hearing about little Caiden Falcon, a toddler who died from cancer last November, they decided to help his family spread some laughs and comfort.

Jo Hamel, Caiden Falcon’s great grandmother, tells the seventh grade class at St. Joseph School in Fairhaven about Caiden’s fight with cancer. The 13-month-old died in November, 2017, from a neuroblastoma, a very aggressive brain tumor. Photo by Glenn C. Silva.
They started collecting “funny hats” for infants to adolescents who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
Misti Nordstrom’s seventh grade class collected approximately 200 hats to donate to the cause.
Caiden’s grandmother Liz Hill and his great grandmother, Jo Hamel, went to the school on Wednesday, 2/14, to collect the hats. They will be donated to a children’s unit.
