Students at Saint Joseph School in Fairhaven are trying to spread a little cheer. After hearing about little Caiden Falcon, a toddler who died from cancer last November, they decided to help his family spread some laughs and comfort.
They started collecting “funny hats” for infants to adolescents who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
Misti Nordstrom’s seventh grade class collected approximately 200 hats to donate to the cause.
Caiden’s grandmother Liz Hill and his great grandmother, Jo Hamel, went to the school on Wednesday, 2/14, to collect the hats. They will be donated to a children’s unit.
They told the children all about Caiden and his brave fight against a stage 4 neuroblastoma, a very aggressive brain tumor. He was diagnosed when he was just five months old and died when he was 13 months old.
