Shellfishing in Fairhaven waters is now open. The state had closed shellfishing at the beginning of March after excessive rainfall caused the City of New Bedford’s wastewater treatment plant to release raw sewage into the outer harbor.
All areas are now open subject to Town of Fairhaven regulations. Check with the Marine Resources Department in Town Hall.
