Shellfishing in all of Buzzards Bay is closed until further notice due to the City of New Bedford’s wastewater treatment plant releasing raw sewage into the outer harbor, again. This time the city emptied 20 million gallons into the water. This is the second time in this year the bay was closed to shellfishing. January, the city dumped more than 40 million gallons into the bay.
