New Moon Roller Disco! On Friday, August 9 3-7pm, the basketball courts at Buttonwood Park will once again come alive with DJs, dancers, and skaters of all ages for this free, high-energy celebration.
This year, New Moon Roller Disco will feature an hour of free skate lessons offered by Amy Caracappa, followed by open skating for the rest of the afternoon and evening to the sounds of DJ Claudia Dee Bee!

Thanks to ongoing grant support from New Bedford Creative and the New Bedford Local Cultural Council, as well as logistical support from the New Bedford Parks & Recreation Department, this unique family friendly event invites all ages to come out, get moving, and enjoy the spirit of summer – on eight wheels!
No skates? No problem! The ever-growing Skate Library–offered for free by the Southcoast Shipwreckers Junior Roller Derby–will be available for those who want to borrow a pair and join in the fun. We will also be accepting skate donations for the skate library.
