The sale of the River’s End marks the end of 20 years of ownership by Mark and Sue DeSilva. Ms. DeSilva made it clear that HE was retiring, not her. She will be taking a break, then she’ll be back in the work scene, somewhere, she said on 6/23 after the annual Lions Club duck race which ends at their place.
“We’re going out in style,” said Mark, adding that the new owner, Ernie Medeiros, told him it would be basically the same operation. “It’s been a great run. It’s time.”
“It’s been a nice trip,” added Sue. “With nice people, and a lot of nice friends.”
The local watering hole is known for its friendly atmosphere and for playing headquarters to a number of charity events throughout the year, including the annual duck race and the annual food/toy drive and motorcycle run on Thanksgiving weekend.
The liquor license transfer will take some time to work its way back from the state, but the River’s End will open up soon with the same name.
