Peace, love, vino! What more can one ask of life? How about some sunshine, a place to kick back with that wine, and maybe a little music and food, too? That’s what Nasketucket Bay Vineyard, 237 New Boston Road, Fairhaven, offers this summer.
Owner Nick Christy, Marketing Manager and chief bottle washer, Angelique “Angel” Castriano; and Tasting Room Server, Russ, welcomed members of the Fairhaven Select Board and Economic Development Committee for a ribbon cutting on Friday, 5/10/24.
“We are very excited…to have this wonderful business in our town,” said EDC chairperson Cathy Melanson, and encouraged everyone to visit.
Select Board chairperson Stasia Powers said encouraging new businesses is a “real priority” for the SB. She encouraged everyone to visit the beautiful spot.
“They’ve done an amazing job,” said Ms. Powers.
“We really appreciate the support from the town,” said Ms. Castriano, adding it was “daunting,” and they learned a lot along the way. “You don’t know what you don’t know.”
She said when in doubt, they went with their gut. They love good food, good wine, and, being musicians, a good space.
“It’s been really gratifying,” said Mr. Christy, noting that they have actually been open for about a month.
He said people love the wine and the spot.
The main tasting room features several areas with cozy seating for sipping wine and munching on gourmet foods. Outside, a seating area allows for dining and enjoying a large fireplace.
While the back of the property is all vineyard, the front has an orchard with cherry, pear, apple, plum and peach trees. Look for future wine offerings, and more, that use those fruits.
The vineyard also has a store featuring gourmet specialty foods, locally sourced cheeses, meats and handmade sweet treats to complement the wine.
The vineyard is open Thursday through Sunday starting at 11 a.m., and features live music on Sundays, 2–5 p.m.; food truck Friday through Sunday; Fido Fridays starting at 1:30 p.m., when you can bring your well-behaved, leashed dog. Other special events include maker sessions. For details on upcoming events and to learn more about the vineyard, visit https://peacelovevino.net, email info@peacelovevino.net, or call 774-425-2123.
