Voters in Acushnet and Fairhaven voted for Democratic President Joseph Biden, and Republican Donald Trump (R) in the primary election on Tuesday, 3/5.*
In Acushnet 504 voters chose Biden, 62 voted no preference, 45 for Marianne Williamson, and 41 for Dean Phillips. In the Committee Man race for the 2nd Bristol District, which includes Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, and New Bedford, incumbent Charles Motta receved 402 votes in Acushnet to 190 for Leon E. Correy III, the current Fairhaven Select Board Chair.
On the Rebublican side, Acushnet voters chose Trump 979, to Nikki Haley’s 218, with other candidates in the single digits.
Twelve voters chose the Libertarian Ballot in Acushnet.
In Fairhaven, 1252 voters chose Biden; 146 voted no preference; 85 chose Phillips, 62 chose Williamson.
For Republicans, 1280 voted for Turmp; 454 voted for Haley.
Motta received 714 votes; Correy received 710.
Forty four voters chose the Libertarian Ballot in Fairhaven.
In Dartmouth, Motta received 1721 votes to Correy’s 689. In Mattapoisett, Motta received 313 to Correy’s 90.
Lisa Lemieux, The Democratic State Committee Woman, was unopposed. Robert S. McConnell of Fairhaven was unopposed for Republican State Committee Man; JoAnne Mello Hodgson was unopposed for Republican State Committee Woman.
