In a few short years, Reggae on West Beach has become a beloved and funky fixture on the City of New Bedford’s cultural landscape.
Reggae on West Beach happens on the last Sunday of each month, this year in June, July and August. From 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on those afternoons it features a mix of live bands and DJs on the pavilion at 239 West Rodney French Boulevard which juts out from the beach into Clarks Cove. And, it’s free to attend for all.
In addition to the sounds, Reggae on West Beach also features unique food trucks and local artists and artisans as well as community groups. All represent the unique elements which give New Bedford flavor and soul today.
The next two Reggae on West Beach afternoons happen on Sunday, July 31 and on Sunday, August 28. DJ Sleepy and DJ Fresco handle the music on the 31st; DJ Bee Mags of WNB One Radio and Jahbari do the same on the 28th.
