The Bristol County Superior Court issued a preliminary injunction on 12/14/23 to stay the penalties imposed on Rasputin’s Tavern by the Fairhaven Select Board at its 11/20/23 meeting and signed at its 12/4 meeting.
Attorney John P. Connell issued a statement on 12/15/23 saying that untl Rasputin’s appeal to the ABCC (Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission) is adjudicated, the bar is allowed to operate.
“Until such time as the ABCC reviews this matter, and especially over the next couple of weeks, Rasputin’s welcomes all fisherman and office Christmas parties alike, and especially also welcomes anyone who wants to sit at the same bar as Jennifer Ortega and Tommy Lee Jones sat at during the [filming] of the FinestKind to share the spirit of that great locally based movie,” wrote Mr. Connolly.
After a hearing in open session, the Select Board issued three 10-day suspensions for a variety of offenses, including serving an intoxicated person and serving an underage person.
The hearing with the ABCC is scheduled for 1/31/24.
