On August 4th, 2023, the US Coast Guard celebrated its 233rd birthday of serving the maritime interests of our nation through the hard work and selfless dedication of its men and women.
The New Bedford Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 65 is the uniform, non-paid component of the US Coast Guard created by an Act of Congress in 1939. As America’s Volunteer Guardians, the Auxiliary supports the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs, such as public education courses, free vessel safety checks, on-water safety patrols, search and rescue, maritime security, environmental protection, and teaching maritime skills to Sea Scouts.
