A quick storm dumped more than an inch of rain in the region on Monday, 3/16/26, into the early morning hours of Tuesday. High winds added to the drama, knocking down trees and causing scattered power outages across the state. In Fairhaven a pole on Winsegansett Avenue caught fire and snapped. In Mass. up to 60,000 customers were without power for part of the day. Winds were about 30 MPH with one gust at 57 MPH on 3/17.
