The Fairhaven Harbormaster has been transplanting quahogs in North Cove the last couple of weeks, and should finish up in a few days. The program takes quahogs from the Taunton River, which is polluted, and places them in clean waters. The quahogs are naturally cleaned out from the action of the tides in clean waters in about a year. So, North Cove is closed until next season providing the quahogs test as safe to consume. This year’s program will transplant 800 bushels in North Cove.
