On February 1 (NOTE date correction), 2006, an act of violence at Puzzles Lounge shook New Bedford and left deep scars—alongside enduring strength, resilience, and love. This year marks twenty years since that night, and we are coming together to remember, honor, and rise.
The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network invites you to join us for a candlelight vigil as we gather in remembrance of the survivors, those we lost, and the resilience of our community.
Candlelight Vigil, Sunday, 2/1 , 4:00 p.m., 60 Eighth Street, New Bedford
Immediately following the vigil, all are welcome to attend a Reception & Remembrance at: First Unitarian Church, 71 Eighth Street.
This gathering is about more than remembering the past — it is about reaffirming our collective commitment to building a world free from fear, where LGBTQ+ people are safe, seen, and supported.
We hope you will stand with us as we honor our history and continue moving forward together.
