Powers Has Sharp Mind

April 2, 2025 by Staff Writer

Powers Has Sharp Mind

It’s with genuine enthusiasm that I recommend my friend Sean Powers for a seat on the Fairhaven Planning Board. Having known him since our junior high school days at Hastings Middle School, then Fairhaven High, I’ve seen firsthand his deep connection to this community develop and grow.

One thing that always impressed me about him is his sharp mind and ability to grasp complex information quickly. With an early background in economics, Sean like many of us made a shift to the technology field. That experience set has given him a knack for understanding the nitty-gritty details, like reading and understanding technical plans, while also keeping the big picture in focus. That’s a rare and valuable combination, especially when it comes to town planning.

More than that, his love for our town runs deep. He’s lived here his entire life, witnessed its evolution and challenges, and truly cherishes what makes it special. He’s not just interested in development for the sake of it; he’s passionate about seeing our town thrive while preserving the unique character we all love, the beauty, charm, and small town feel that keeps so many of us anchored to its rich history. I know he’ll bring a thoughtful and balanced perspective to the board, always considering how decisions today will shape our town for generations to come.

I truly believe Sean will be a dedicated and insightful member of the planning board and the honest, level-headed presence that we need to help shape decision-making. We would be hard-pressed to find someone who cares more deeply about the future of our town.

Steven Pereira, Fairhaven
