Come to the Mattapoisett Library, 7 Barstow St., from January 15 – February 14 to view a photography exhibit by Mattapoisett resident Richard Van Inwegen. Photography has been a long-time hobby for Van Inwegen. He has taken numerous courses and seminars on photography and for several years has photographed the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra and other non-profits.
His photographs represent some of the numerous interesting subjects found in our area: boats, buildings, landscapes, wildlife, and flowers. All prints were “developed” with computer (post-processing) to achieve a desired impact. Some prints are blends of multiple exposures to handle the wide range of light intensities; some are blends of multiple images; some are the result of creative effects done with the camera; and some are just being in the right spot at the right time.
In conjunction with his exhibit, on Jan 29 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Van Inwegen will be giving a talk at the library called “Traveling for Photos and Taking Photos While Traveling.” The program is free and open to all.
