Many area towns have offered to deliver pet food for seniors who may be having trouble getting out to get food for their pets, or who may be afraid. Call your local animal control officer, or local shelter for information if you do not see your town listed below.
Fairhaven
Any Fairhaven senior residents that are in need of pet food may contact the Animal Control Officer, at aco@fairhaven-ma.gov or 508-979-4028. Please tell us what you are in need of, if it is for a cat or a dog and your address please. We will deliver it to you, drop it outside your door, knock on the door and leave. No contact needed, we want to make sure our Fairhaven Senior Citizens remain at home and safe. There is no need for you to go out to the stores to get your pet’s food. Please email us if you can, if not please give us a call.
Dartmouth
Attention Dartmouth Senior Citizens! If you are unable to get to the store to obtain food for your pet, please call the Humane Society at 508-995-6661 and we will make arrangements to deliver it to your door! This program is a collaboration between Town of Dartmouth Animal Control and the Humane Society. The food was graciously donated by Stop and Shop and Dartmouth Towing supplied a flatbed truck and driver to pick up the donations from the warehouse and deliver them to the shelter for distribution! If you are a senior citizen that resides in New Bedford, please reach out to your local animal control officer as this is a collaboration between the Humane Society, NBPD Animal Control, and the Coalition for Animals.
*If you would like to donate to this program reach out to any of the above organizations and they will direct you for further information.
