The Livesey Club held a rededication event on 12/7/25 to show the restored weathervane that used to be on the cupola at the Oxford School. The weathervane now sits proudly atop the cupola of the Livesey Club building, 11 Hopkins Street, not far at all from the old school, which is now the Oxford School Residences.
“The Livesey Club took on the responsibility of restoring the historic artifact of North Fairhaven which had been a landmark for more than a century,” wrote David Darmofal in an email. “The Livesey Club now displays the weathervane proudly for all to enjoyed.”
He said the many individiauls and business, along with students from New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, worked to restore the weathervane.
“We urge residents of the town to stop by and take peak.” wrote Mr. Darmofal. “I’m sure many memories will be brought forward when one sees it again atop a cupola in North Fairhaven.
