Main Street in Acushnet, in and around Town Hall, is filled with old cars, old music and people of all ages on Thursday, 8/31, for the 8th annual Cruise and Music Night. Photo by Beth David.
The center of town in Acushnet was hopping like a sock-hop last Thursday evening, 8/31, as music by The Klassics filled the town green with oldies, and antique cars filled the streets. The eighth annual Cruise and Music Night brought car enthusiasts, dancers, and people of all ages who just wanted to hang out with their neighbors.

The smell of hot dogs, burgers, popcorn and other goodies filled the air as people danced on the green and strolled through the streets oohing and aahing over approximately 150 vehicles on display.
The event was sponsored by the Town of Acushnet and the Acushnet Celebration Committee. Music sponsored by the Acushnet Policemen’s Association.

One can just imagine this Chevrolet pickup truck working hard on a farm in Acusnet in the 1940s. The owner wasn’t around for us to ask the year, so we took a guess (with a little help from the internet). Photo by Beth David.
