Thomas A. Potter
Thomas A. Potter passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was the loving husband of 25 years to Michelle (Forand) (Girouard) Potter.
Born and raised in Taunton, son of the late Ralph W. Potter, Sr. And Virginia (Higgins) Potter, he was a graduate of Taunton High School. Tom settled in Fairhaven in 1992 and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rochester.
Tom had worked at Rand McNally for twenty years and then Nye Lubricant for 20 years until his retirement at age 60. He also enjoyed working at Yester’year Cyclery in New Bedford.
Tom was a member of the Eagle’s Club in Lakeville, the Sippican Rod and Gun Club and the NRA.
He is survived by his wife Michelle and her daughter, Sandra L. (Girouard) Avila and her husband Michael of Fairhaven; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Justin and Nicole; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Latham and her husband Russell of Rehoboth and Sandra O’Connor and her husband Roger of Norton and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was the brother of the late Ralph W. Potter, Jr. and is also survived by his wife Karen Potter of Dighton.
Mr. Potter will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Rochester, 11 Constitution Way, Rochester, MA 02770, followed by a reception in the church hall. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. For memorial register please visit www.hathawayfunerals.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations (of any type, monetary, clothing, food donations, etc.) may be made to the First Congressional Church of Rochester.
