Janet Marie (Howarth) Hemingway
Janet Marie (Howarth) Hemingway, age 63, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025 in Port St. Lucie, Florida in the company of her treasured sisters Susan and Lisa. Their care for one another and their sisterhood will never be broken. It’s an example of unconditional love and unwavering commitment.
Janet is the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Bariteau) Howarth. Janet grew up in Fairhaven and has been a resident most of her life. She is a graduate of Fairhaven High School.
Janet will be remembered as an inspiration to all for her care and devotion to her family. She loved to spend time with family and friends, whether it be at parties, holidays, and games. She would embrace the experience and teach, tell stories, and most of all be positive. There was nothing she would not do for her family. The family had an absolute angel.
Janet leaves behind her husband, Thomas Vickerman Hemingway, with whom she shared 46 years together, her son Tyler John Hemingway, his wife Hailey Anne (Cabral) Hemingway, and her soon to arrive granddaughter Lydia Natalie Muriel Hemingway. Her son Tyler has been and will always be her defining moment. The blessing of his birth was only accomplished by her ability to overcome unbelievable odds. A true grit moment that took over 13 years.
In addition, she leaves behind her many brothers and sisters, John Howarth and his wife Cristina of Acushnet, MA; Susan Faria of Port St. Lucie, FL; Michael Howarth of Bismark, ND; Peter Howarth and his wife Sharon of Fairhaven, MA; and Lisa Moniz and her husband Kenneth of Fairhaven MA; brother-in-law Kent Hemingway Jr. and wife Carolyn of Tamworth, NH; brother-in-law Peter Hemingway and his wife Leigh of Mattapoisett, MA; sister-in-law Rebecca Howarth of Attleboro, MA, and many nieces, nephews, and their children. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law Robert Faria; her In-Laws Kent Hemingway and Natalie Hemingway, who she spent much time caring for in their elder years; and her beloved brother Steven Howarth. The loss of her brother Steven was one of the biggest challenges to overcome. Steve’s love and commitment to Janet was unsurpassed, protecting her as the best big brother and hero she could ever have.
Respecting Janet’s wishes, services will not be held. Janet and Tom would like all family, friends, co-workers, our special Reservation Golf Club family, and dear neighbors to know we truly love you all.
Life is truly delicious when you’re with the right people at the right time. Thank you for all your love and support.
