Jacqueline (Hevey) Kenworthy
Jacqueline (Hevey) Kenworthy passed away January 6, 2025, nearly a year after a terminal pancreatic cancer diagnosis that forecast only a few months remaining life.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice R. Hevey and Yvette (Lefebvre) Hevey, her brother, Maurice O. Hevey, and her first husband, Ronald J. Chadwick. She is survived by her daughter, Christen C. Kenworthy, her granddaughter, Ashleigh R. Kenworthy, her husband of 50 years, Robert A. Kenworthy, and her brother, Michael J. Hevey.
Jacqueline became a young widow at the age of 24, then completed college at SMU (now UMass Dartmouth) where she met Bob Kenworthy. After graduation, she utilized education to become a certified teacher, then used her writing and computer skills to assist and produce newsletters for Fairhaven Council on Aging, Fairhaven Lions, and other local organizations. She thoroughly enjoyed her roles throughout life as “Mom’ for Chrissie and “Grandma” for Ashleigh.
Jackie and Bob always made time to enjoy travel including Chris and then Ashleigh in their early years. In retirement, Jackie and Bob often traveled to Eastern Europe, Canada and across the USA.
Family kindly asks in lieu of flowers for donations to be considered for two local organizations honored by Jacqueline:
• Southcoast Health Cancer Center Hospice
• Fairhaven Social Day Program at the Fairhaven Council on Aging
Arrangements were handled by the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals.
