Elizabeth Ann Palm, 86 of Newington, Connecticut passed away on April 22nd 2025. Born on January 9th, 1939 in Fairhaven Massachusetts, Elizabeth, also known as Betty, was the daughter of George Holt and Doris Warburton. She grew up in Fairhaven and graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1956.
In 1958 Betty joined the Air Force and was in the medical field in Texas for three years. She attained the rank of Airman First Class (A1C). She specialized in one-to-one patient care and was later put in charge of the OB/GYN Clinic.
She married Eric Donald Palm in 1961 while they were both in the Air Force. After the Air Force, Betty worked for Dr. Patel in a laboratory research facility and took care of his brother. She loved to work in her garden and feed the ducks at Mill Pond. Betty also loved buffets and going to tag sales.
Betty was known for her writing skills. She collaborated with her brother George to co-author a novel called “Run Away to Glory”.
Betty is survived by her son, Eric Donald Palm Jr., her daughter Lisa Karen Palm, her Grandson Matthew Hernandez, granddaughters Mina and Ellie, sister Edith Ryder and brothers, George Holt Jr. and John Warburton Holt. She is predeceased by her husband Eric Palm; sister Doris Hutchins; and parents George and Doris Holt.
A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held with family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Millicent Library in Fairhaven, MA in Betty’s memory.
Betty will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her compassion, dedication, love of life, sense of humor and joyful spirit.
