Anna Quintin
Anna M. (Mikina) Quintin of Fairhaven, MA, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side at Charlton Memorial Hospital on December 26, 2023 at the age of 101.
Anna was born on April 10, 1922 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Mary (Gula) and John Mikina.
She was the beloved widow of Ernest R. Quintin. She is survived by Ronald Quintin and his wife Sandra, Robert Quintin and daughter Patricia Young, daughter-in-law Louise Quintin and son-in-law Tony DaPonte. She is also survived by her special son, Glenn Costa and friend Rachel, her special grandson Bobby and special granddaughter Heather Quintin, special niece Karen Kach and special nephew Richard Hopp and her very caring neighbors Joel and Lucy Philia.
She was the sister of the late Nellie Sojka, Victoria Hopp, Celia Kach, and her brother Joseph Mikina. Also her son, the late Ernest Quintin, (Sam), Gayle DaPonte, and granddaughter Deborah Aguiar. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was a former parishioner of O.L.P.H. parish. She attended New Bedford Regional Vocational High School and was formerly employed by Acushnet Co., Mutterperl Corp. and Quint’s Kitchen.
She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing and taking care of her grandchildren. Her greatest memories were spending Christmas Eves with her children and Santa (Sam) giving gifts to the children on these special occasions.
On Anna’s 100th birthday, she received a citation from the Town of Fairhaven declaring April 10, 2022 as Anna M. Quintin Day. She was also interviewed on WBSM Radio where her quick wit, intelligence, and zest for life were displayed. Anna was a very generous and loving person to all her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all of us who loved her so very much.
