Nomination papers are available for those wishing to run for office in Acushnet.
The last day to take out papers is Wed., 2/23. Papers must be returned with the required signatures by 3/25.
The annual town election will be on Saturday, 5/14. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All precincts vote at the Acushnet Elementary School, 800 Middle Road.
The final day to register to vote is Fri., 4/22. The clerk’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on that day.
Seats up for election in 2022 are: Selectboard, David Desroches, incumbent; Assessors, Liberio Dasilve Soares, incumbent; Board of Health, Thomas Fortin, incumbent; School Committee/two seats, Sarah Ann Gomes and Jennifer Downing, incumbents; Commissioner of Trust Funds, Marc Laplante, incumbent; Library Trustee/two seats, Nancy Franics and Stephen Reale, incumbents; Cemetery Board, Charlene Fortin, incumbent; Housing Authority, Stephanie Von Jess, incumbent; Planning Board, Mark Francois, incumbent; Moderator, vacant.
