Nomination papers are available for those wishing to run for office in Acushnet.
The last day to take out nomination papers is Thurs., 2/9, by 5 p.m. Candidates must get a minimum of 31 signatures from registered voters. The last day to submit nomination papers to the Board of Registrars for certification of signatures is Mon., 2/13, by 5 p.m.
The town election will be held on Monday, April 3. The last day to register as a voter is Tues., 3/14, by 8 p.m.

Town Moderator Robert Francis has announced that he will not run for re-election this year. Candidates up for re-election include Pamela Labonte, Town Clerk; Garry Rawcliffe, Selectboard; Assessor Marc Cenerizio; Robert Medeiros, Board of Health; David M. DeTerra and Jody Tavares, School Committee; Leo Rousseau, Commissioner of Trust Funds; Marc Cenerizio, Planning Commissioner, and one vacancy on the Planning Board; Joanne Cioper, Cemetery Board; Henry Preston, Library Trustees; Robert St. Jean, Park Commission; Lawrence Mulvey, Housing Authority, and a vacant seat; and Tree Warden Raymond Barlow.
