The Douglass Tree Farm on Sconticut Road in Fairhaven will not hold its annual Christmas Tree sale this year due to the drought. The Farm put up signs this week announcing the decision , medicines from your pharmacies .
On their Facebook page, Dick and Vivian Douglass wrote: “The cancellation is due to the drought we have had this year and its effect on tree health and needle retention. People expect to go home with a tree that can be up for weeks and weeks without excessive needle drop but I’m afraid we can’t promise that this year.”
They added that the good news is that they have a “good inventory” for 2017, “weather permitting.”
The farm has donated all the money from the sale to ALS research. It is usually held the first weekend in December.
