The latest “No Kings” protest day on 10/17/26, resulted more than 3,000 actions across the country, all with the purpose of encouraging people to vote, and vote early. In some places they marched to ballot drop-off boxes; in some places they gave out information on polling places; in all places they encouraged people to embrace the power of the ballot box.
Locally, scores of people met at Town Hall in Fairhaven and marched to downtown New Bedford, with a stop on Pope’s Island to pick up more supporters.
The No Kings movement started to protest the abuses of the Trump Administration, its blatant disregard for the rule of law and the US Constitution, and the treatment of immigrants and US Citizens by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
During this Saturday’s day of action, Meta shut down the No Kings Coalition Instagram Page, which he organization uses to coordinate events.
