Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Program
An advocate for the beloved community, Ordained Reverand, Doctor, and Air Force Veteran, Pastor Sandra Gatlin Whitley is the keynote speaker for the program at the International Church of the Nazarene
The City of New Bedford’s annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Program to be held on Sunday, January 14th is from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the International Church of the Nazarene, 278 Pleasant Street, in New Bedford.
Sponsored by the City’s Department of Community Services and the Human Rights Commission, the program features live poetry, music, and keynote speaker Pastor Sandra Gatlin Whitley.

With its riveting rhythms, bold beats, and ear grabbing energy, DRUMLine Live is a high-octane musical roller coaster ride for the entire family that will reach every emotion in your body!
We’re on the road while the Zeiterion undergoes a major renovation and restoration! HBCU College Fair
To complement this performance, The Z has collaborated with the Andrea McCoy Recreation Center, T.R.U.E. Diversity, Domino’s, the MLK Day Community Program, Paige L. Jones, WNB One Radio, and Sparrow’s Eye to offer a free HBCU College Fair featuring the cast of DRUMLine Live on January 15!

Join us to:
• Connect with graduates from 8+ HBCUs
• Experience HBCU culture through an interactive halftime performance and Q&A with the cast of Drumline Live! (12:30pm)
• Learn about local scholarships offered by the Martha Briggs Educational Club and the Community Foundation
• Connect with the New Bedford High School Guidance Department
The event will take place from 11am–2pm at Andrea McCoy Recreation Center, 181 Hillman St., Bldg. 8, New Bedford. Free pizza provided by Domino’s.

MLK Breakfast
Bristol Community College will host its 24th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast, on Monday, January 15, 2024, featuring an interactive Day of Service. The in-person events are free and open to all.
Following the breakfast and a brief program, including a keynote presentation by Yolanda L. Dennis, the inaugural Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Family Engagement at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, guests will have the option to visit fun and engaging workshops and activities!
The event will be held in the Commonwealth College Center (G building), on the Bristol Fall River Campus, 777 Elsbree Street, Fall River, MA 02720.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m., with a breakfast buffet, keynote address and entertainment, before transitioning to workshops at 10:30 a.m.
The 90-minute workshops will include the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Kindness Rocks and more!
