The Fairhaven Neighborhood News has a new look online. Thanks to the generosity of Jeffrey Wotton of Spectrum Advertising, the Neighb News website has been completely redesigned.
The new website includes a spot on the main page to highlight stories, but also includes the whole newspaper in a PDF document.
The old website was really just a portal for readers to download the newspaper as a PDF and to access the archives.
The new website works more like those of other news outlets, with a section for latest news, upcoming events, announcements, and Acushnet news.
“I am a resident of Fairhaven and an avid reader of the Neighb News,” said Mr. Wotton. “Being in the advertising and marketing industry I have seen how a lot of our local news sources are no longer local, and I wanted to help Beth keep our news truly local by providing her with a professional online venue where readers can get the news and engage and comment on what is happening.”
A successful website needs is a professional look and easy navigation for visitors.
Now, readers can access individual stories, instead of just the whole newspaper. This will make it easier for search engines to find stories and give the paper more reach.
“The service Beth provides for our town is invaluable, but there are costs associated with it,” said Mr. Wotton. “I hope by providing this outlet for her and the paper she can continue to engage her audience in new ways and provide another source for her advertisers to reach their local market.”
