Fairhaven held its second annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday, 8/7, on the front lawn of Fairhaven High School. Members of the public enjoyed free entertainment, including a K-9 demonstration, helicopter landing, music, and a chance to “Dunk a Cop” in the dunk tank. A variety of groups provided information on community resources, free hot dogs, and beverages. The Fairhaven Fire Department also provided a chance for a close-up view of their various vehicles, including the ladder truck.
“We were very happy with the turn out and all of the happy faces in our community!!” wrote the Fairhaven Police Department on its Facebook page. “A big thank you to the organizers, volunteers, police officers and fire fighters and animal control who spent their time helping out, and the local businesses for donating their time and goods to a great evening!”
