Nasketucket Bay Vineyard in Fairhaven opened its holiday Ornament Market on Friday, 11/29, featuring thousands of Christmas ornaments by 40 artists from Mass. and RI. It will be open during the vineyard’s regular business hours until the season closes on 12/22.
The ornaments are being sold on consignment, 70% for the artist, 30% for the Vineyard, so everyone benefits, said Angel Castriano.
All of the ornaments are designed an made by the artists. Some are glass, some ceramic, some painted, some etched, for a wide variety of styles to choose from.
Joy and Derek were enjoying glass of wine on the couch, and said they looked at all the ornaments and would probably buy something. They said it was nice that the vineyard was supporting local people.
Erin McAlonan said she had been to the vineyard a few times and tries to keep track of the special events they have. She thought it would be something different to do with her mother-in-law, who is visiting from out of town.
“We’re planning to do some day drinking,” she said.
Darline Jameson said it was her first time there.
“It’s impressive,” she said of both the vineyard and the display.
“There’s a great variety here,” she said, as she gathered up a few things to buy.
