The North Fairhaven Improvement Association held its annual Music Night in Benoit Square on Sunday, 7/13/25, and the crowd showed up despite the heat. Hundreds of people set up their chairs in the shade. Some danced in the street to the oldies performed by Eddie and the Exciters.
The NFIA dished up some burgers and other goodies; and a few classic cars were also on display.
Charlene Correia of Acushnet said she was hanging out with the self-described “Cha Cha Girls.” Some of them follow Eddie around and dance in the street whenever they have a chance.
Manny Silva was there with his 1961 Buick Special. He said his well known “Marilyn Monroe car” got totaled recently.
“That was sad,” he said, but admitted it did not take long for him to “get back to it.”
