Benoit Square filled up with music, dancing and people just sitting enjoying the show at the North Fairhaven Improvement Association’s annual Music Night on 7/21/24. Eddie and the Exciters played the oldies, and a few classic and antique cars lined Adams Street in front of the old fire station that the NFIA uses as a headquarters while NFIA members dished out burgers, dogs and popcorn.
People from all over showed up, including a few residents from the Oxford School Residences, right across the street.
“Just chillin’,” said Carol Medeiros of New Bedford.
“Listening to the music and dancing,” said Debbie Santos of New Bedford.
Adams Street was blocked to traffic, and that’s where people danced in the street.
The NFIA’s next event will be touch-a-truck on 8/18 at Livesey Park, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m., when children of all ages will be able to climb into and around a variety of big trucks and unique cars.
The NFIA meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., at 267 Adams Street, Fairhaven. They are always looking for more members and volunteers. To learn more, visit https://northfairhavenimprovementassoc.weebly.com or email northfairhavenimprovement267@gmail.com or find them on Facebook. There is ample free public parking behind the Oxford School Residences building.
