The North Fairhaven Improvement Association’s annual music night filled Benoit Square on Sunday, 8/13/23, with hundreds of people listening to Eddie and the Exciters, and filled the street with people dancing to the old tunes. More than a dozen classic and antique cars also lined Adams Street, which was blocked off to traffic.
The NFIA sold malassadas, hamburgers, hot dogs, and other goodies, while people also had a chance at a 50-50 raffle.
Nancy DeSousa of Acushnet was the lucky winner of the $282. She said it was her first time attending music night and she bought a ticket to “support the cause.”
The NFIA sponsors several free events throughout the year. Their next event is this Sunday, a classic car show that will feature music, raffles, vendors, and children’s activities. See page 3 for details.
The organization meets the third Thursday of every month at the old fire station in Benoit Square. They are always looking for members and volunteers. Contact northfairhavenimprovement267@gmail.com; visit https://northfairhavenimprovementassoc.weebly.com or find them on Facebook.
