Fairhaven’s 10th annual Turkey Trot saw at least 704 runners take to the streets at a bright and early 8 a.m for the annual 5K run/ walk on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/19.
The weather may have been a damp, but the spirits were not, as everyone was all smiles, including volunteers and runners alike.
Since 2010, the Fairhaven Turkey Trot has raised over $80,000 and collected hundreds of pounds of canned goods to support local food pantries. Last year, Turkey Trot runners and families donated over 2,000 pounds of non-perishable items to The Shepherd’s Pantry.
This year’s winner was Mike Vaz of Atlanta, GA, who is orignally from Dartmouth. Freddy Avis, from Los Angeles, CA, took second place.
This race is mostly for the fun of it, so times are not recorded and results are not available online.
