“Into The Raging Sea” written by Rachel Slade has been chosen for September’s discussion.
The selection is a true story of the container ship ElFaro that sunk with all hands during a hurricane in October, 2015. The sinking was ‘‘the worst American ship disaster in thirty-five years.” The author, journalist Rachel Slade, “using the words of the crew members captured by the ship’s recovered data recorder unravels the mystery of the sinking of the ElFaro as she recounts the final twenty-four hours onboard.”
The book will be discussed at Fairhaven’s Millicent Library, 45 Center St. Fairhaven, on Thurs., 9/19 at 10 a.m., in the library’s meeting room, accessible through the Walnut Street entrance.
The discussion is free and open to the public. The book is available at the library or through the library’s website, www.millicentlibrary. For more information, call Norma Markey at 508-993-3745.
