The parade has been cancelled, but the town of Fairhaven and Memorial Day Parade committee have teamed up to conduct a ceremony on video for the public to see. Activities include placing the flags on the graves of veterans; remarks by Vietnam Veteran and committee member George Brownell; Selectboard member Charles K. Murphy reading General Logan’s Order which created Memorial Day; the reading of the honor roll and the Gettysburg Address.
The special will run on Channel 18 continuously on Memorial Day, Monday, 5/25, and will be available on demand through link at FairhavenTV.com (on YouTube) and on Fairhaven TV’s Facebook page.
