Acushnet’s Miss Apple Peach Pageant has two new titleholders. On Friday, September 4th, Averi Pereira was selected as Miss Apple Peach and Sofia Faria was selected as Jr. Miss Apple Peach.

The pageant is open to all young women from Acushnet in grades 6-12 and the Miss winner received a $500 scholarship, while the Jr. Miss winner received a $250 scholarship; both sponsored by the Acushnet Lions Club. Contestants competed in four phases of competition: Onstage Question, Hometown Impact, Casual Wear and Formal Wear.
Miss Apple Peach 2026, Averi Pereira, is a senior at Fairhaven High School who intends to obtain a degree in electrical engineering. She is the Vice President of Fairhaven High School’s DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Chapter, a three-year member of the National Honor Society, and an AP and highest honors student. Averi also completed the Undersea Technology Apprentice Program at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, gaining hands-on experience in engineering, programming, and underwater robotics. Of note, Averi’s sister, Kelsey, held the title of Miss Apple Peach in 2015, making them the first siblings to hold the Miss Apple Peach Title.
Jr. Miss Apple Peach, Sofia Faria, is a 7th grade student at Ford Middle School and looks forward to attending Old Colony, pursuing a career in cosmetology and eventually opening her own studio. She has studied dance for ten years and has been a competitive dancer for eight of those years. She is also a member of a Portuguese Folkloric Dance Group and performs at various cultural events across the state.
