As the change from winter to spring brings warmer days with cold nights, maple trees around New England begin to flow with delicious sap. Come join the Buzzards Bay Coalition at LaPalme Farm (Blain St., Acushnet) on Saturday, March 2 to learn how you can gather this sap for syrup, sugar, and more!
From 10-11:30 AM, enjoy a morning stroll and learn about the history of maple tapping and sugaring, an age-old New England tradition. With the help of the Mass Maple Producers Association, we’ll go over maple tapping 101 and teach you how you can get to maple sap in your own back yard. If conditions are right, we’ll attempt to tap one of our maple trees on the property!
Open to kids and curious adults of all ages. Dress warmly for walking on the trails.
