On Sunday, 10/10/21, the Rotary Club of Fairhaven and the Millident Library dedicated the Longworth “Little Free Library” on Shaw Road in Fairhaven, at the entrance to the Phoenix Bike Trail.

“With Carolyn Longworth, 40 years of being the Librarian at the Millicent Library, and the first woman in the Fairhaven Rotary Cub many moons ago, the Rotary Club decided the best retirement gift for her and others to enjoy for years to come was a Little Library,” wrote Pattie Pacella, Rotary president. “And what perfect spot would be better than where Carolyn goes bird watching (her favorite past-time) on the Shaw Road bike path?”

Little Free Libraries are small kiosks scattered around neighborhoods around the world allowing people to give and take books for free.

With the new addition, Fairhaven now has at least 12 Free Little Libraries. Visit https://fairhaventours.com/little-libraries/ to find their locations. Ten are registered/ chartered with the international organization, https://littlefreelibrary.org, and one is independent.
