Election season for Acushnet and Fairhaven is underway. To be on the ballot, candidates must collect signatures of registered voters and get them certified by the Town Clerk’s office.
Acushnet
Acushnet’s election will be held on Tuesdau, 4/28/26. Nomination papers are now available. The last day to take out papers is 3/6/26 at 5 p.m.
Candidates must get 42 signatures of registered voters in person to be placed on the ballot.
Last day to submit papers is 3/10.
Last day to register as a voter is Friday, 4/17.
The polls will open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. on Election Day. All precincts vote at the Acushnet Elementary School, 800 Middle Road.

Selectboard incumbent David Wojnar has announced that he is not seeking reelection. Ryan Rezendes has taken out papers for the Selectboard seat and they have been certified.
School Committee has two seats on the ballot. Both incumbents, Ronald Houde and Mellissa Cordeira, have taken out papers.
Two seats are also up for the Trustees of the Libary. Incumbent Joan Howland has taken out papers; incumbent John Roy has not.
Other offices that will be on the ballot are: Town Moderator, incumbent Leslie Dakin has not yet taken out papers; Town Clerk, incumbent Pamela Labonte has taken out papers; Board of Assessors, incumbent Robert Broen has taken out papers; Board of Health, incumbent Robert Medeiros has takent out papers; Commissioner of Trust Funds, incumbent John Roy has not taken out papers; Cemetery Board, incumbent Joanne Cioper has taken out papers; Park Commissioner, incumbent Michael Matton has not taken out papers; Planning Commissioner, incumbent Bryan Deschamps has taken out papers; Housing Authority, incumbent Rene Racine has not taken out papers.
Fairhaven
Fairhaven’s election is on Tuesday, 6/9/26, and nomination papers will be available beginning 3/2/26. To be on the ballot, candidates must collect 50 signatures of registered voters.
The polls will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. All precincts vote at the Fairhaven Recreation Center, 227 Huttleston Avenue.

Seats for all offices and Town Meeting members will be on the ballot.
Two Select Board seats will be on the ballot, with Charles Murphy and Keith Silvia up for reelection. Two Planning Board seats and one partial term to fill a vacancy are up for Planning Board, with Kevin Grant and Sharon Simmons up for reelection; and the unexpired term currently held by Jeffrey Lucas also on this year’s ballot.
Two School Committee seats and on unexpired term will be on the ballot, with Brian Monroe and Stephanie Pickup in the full term seats and Donna McKenna in the seat she filled after a vacancy. Mr. Monroe has said he will not seek reelection.
Two Board of Public Works seats are up; one Board of Health position is up; one Commissioner of Trust Funds seat is up; one Housing Authority seat is up.
