After 45 years editing and writing for the new Bedford Standard-Times, Susan Pawlak Seaman posted her final column “Live and Learn”on May 3, 2020. Her own story began at Apponequet HS where she posted articles about learning through a student’s eyes. Eagerly working in the paper’s Middleboro bureau, Susan fell in love with journalism there, charting a new course as an English Major at Stonehill College, graduating in 1974.
She earned journalistic kudos for her steady, sensitive reportage in Middleboro through the seventies After a tour of duty for the S-T in Fairhaven, she at last emerged as an editor/columnist, married to the multi-talented S-T photographer Hank Seaman in October of ’78. Their life together, along with extraordinary personal stories about life in the city of Melville and Douglass became a precious narrative for readers.
